No Kidding! It Happened Again! ; - )

This is an unrelated photo of an Italian Beef Sandwich at Novi's in Chicago...YUM!!!

Hi Folks,

We've been having a ball visiting friends, family, and going to cool places like Cedar Point, Mackinac Island, etc. Yes, we are all getting along really well too ; - ) So far we're still happy to be together ; - )

Believe it or not, Tuesday night our driver's side rear hubcap came off (just like the other one,) ripped off both valve stems (just like before,) and left us on an off-ramp near Richfield Ohio with 2 flat tires! That is getting really old! And yes, those hubcaps are GONE FOR GOOD!!!

A tire guy came with his heavy duty jack (it worked on the angle of the off-ramp and mine didn't) and changed us over to our spare at about 3:00 a.m. then, (just like magic) and...$285.00 later we were rolling again and arrived at the Thompson's house at about 5:00 a.m. It was a long night.

The next day we found a couple of new tires (yep, another $498.00) and we are about to set sail again. We also spent a couple of hours troubleshooting the automatic stairs...it turned out to be a fuse that looked good on the outside but had an internal short. Lesson: Always check fuses with a voltmeter!

Although this trip has certainly been a major "pain in the wallet," and a bit trying at times, it has been wonderful to be with these good people and visit people we love around the country. We have a pretty full agenda, but are looking forward to the activities ahead.

Thanks to Tom & Lisa Thompson for their great hospitality and help on the RV! You guys really gave a bunch of road-weary travelers a welcomed reprieve and a warm welcome. You Rock!

Will post again sometime, but it's time for brunch.

Take Good Care,

Bill

Hello Hanover family :)

Thought I'd check out your Blog, glad I did, I think your family has inspired me to try and talk my family into going on a cross country vacation together. It may be hard to cordinate the adult kids (boy that sounded weird) schedules to take time off, but it can be done.

It was so good to see your after so many years. Adam has left quite an impression on Tiffany. She's done nothing but talk about your kids to ours and how they should have been with us. I only wish we would have had more time together. I look forward to seeing your guys again, I would love the chance to get to know Lana better.

Had some excitement of my own this week. I totaled our Suburban trying to miss a deer. IT WAS SO STUPID! I usually just hit them and it does no damage to the vehical (I've hit about ten with this suburban and never done any damage). So this weekend I am car shopping. At some point we will need to replace it with a truck so that we can still pull our travel trailer, but for now a gas saving vehical is in my future.

I will check back and see how your trip is progressing. Keep having the time of your life, after all, most people only dream of the vacation your are being blessed with.

Much love
Della

Hi Della & Fam,

Just a short note...not much time, but Yes, we really enjoyed seeing you all again too!

Just move out to Utah will ya! ; - )

I'm glad you survived the deer...I'm guessing it wasn't so lucky.

God Bless You and Yours.

I was very glad to finally meet your family as well! And Tiffany, if you would have said something I would have totally given you my number, silly! Ha ha but I guess that probably wouldn't do much good since you don't have a cell phone anyway huh! That sucks to hear about your totalled vehicle though! Bummer, but I'm very glad and grateful to hear that you're not hurt!

Through the good times and the.. not so good times on this trip, I think that thus far, this trip has been a good thing for this family and if you can find time in your adult kids' lives, more power to you!

Also, I would be more than happy to share my e-mail address with you.

Adam
